Code of Conduct

TL;DR

Aya Community is committed to creating a safe, welcoming, and inclusive space for builders. Treat others with respect. Harassment, hate speech, doxxing unwelcome sexual attention, sustained disruption or sharing private information without consent are not allowed. If you see something, report it moderators will review reports confidentially.

Introduction

Aya is a community for builders learning, shipping, and collaborating together. We welcome people of all backgrounds and experience levels. This Code outlines expected behaviour so everyone can participate safely and productively.

How to participate

• Be respectful. Critique ideas, not people; avoid personal attacks and slurs.
• Be inclusive. Use welcoming language and help create space for newcomers.
• Be constructive. Offer actionable feedback and share helpful resources.
• Protect privacy. Don’t share someone’s private data or credentials without permission.

Unacceptable behaviour

The following behaviours are strictly prohibited in Aya spaces (online or in-person):

• Harassment, threats or hate speech based on protected characteristics.
• Unwelcome sexual advances, comments or contact.
• Doxxing or publishing others’ private information without consent.
• Sustained disruption of events, talks, chats or channels.
• Impersonation, fraud or attempts to gain unauthorized access.
• Encouraging or promoting the above behaviour.

Reporting incidents

If you experience or witness unacceptable behaviour, please report it as soon as possible. Reports are treated confidentially.

• Contact an event organizer or moderator directly (they will be identified at events).
• Email our moderation team: moderator@theayacommunity.com

Consequences

Moderators may respond to violations with a range of actions depending on severity and context, including:

• Verbal warnings and requests to stop the behaviour.
• Temporary or permanent removal from channels, events or the community.
• Referral to venue or platform authorities when required.

By participating in Aya Community events or channels, you agree to follow this Code of Conduct. Our goal is to maintain a constructive, respectful environment where builders can learn and collaborate.
